June
June 6: Morro Bay Music Festival. Show your moves on Morro Bay's largest out door dance floor while you listen to music featuring local favorites and national rising stars. Tri-tip sandwiches and a seafood BBQ featuring albacore, oysters and other seasonal choices. Wine, beer and soft drinks available. For your shopping pleasure there will be 29+ vendors with an array of items to choose from and gift baskets to win in our raffle. 714 Embarcadero, the parking lot at Pacific and Embarcadero, 11am to 7pm. June 12th: The Upstairs Gallery. Friday June 12th kicks off the opening of the Upstairs Gallery at Seven Sisters Gallery located at 601 Embarcadero, just steps from Windows on the Water. Featuring a body of new works entitled Dangerous Comparisons by one of SLO County's Best of the Best artists Jayne Behman, this opening also celebrates the birthdays of gallery owner Tracy Neil and the artist. The fun begins at 5pm with "frosting and bubbles" served until 8pm. Guests may come in birthday party attire and will receive party hats. This show will continue through July 12th. Work is priced very competitively to encourage sales.

June 20: WaterFest 2009. WaterFest is an annual "learn by playing" family-fun event, full of educational activities and entertainment, that celebrates water quality protection, water conservation and our watersheds. July
July 3-4-5: Art in the Park. Vendors come from all over the state to display their wide variety of arts and crafts in the City Park. Morro Bay Art Association. (805) 772-2504

July 4: Fourth of July Laser Show Enjoy a day of family activities at Tidelands Park, Live music, Food, Vendors, Kids games and more. Then stay for the "First ever on the Central Coast" Laser Show at dusk. Set to music, this show will make history. Laser show facts:

  • It actually looks better with fog!
  • Is environmentally safe, with respect to fire, wildlife, etc.
  • Saves the city the funds and resources it must provide to ensure a fire does not break out.

July 11: Rock to Pier Run. Runners run the six mile stretch from the rock in Morro Bay to the pier in Cayucos. Morro Bay Parks and Recreation (805) 772-6278

August 2: Merchants Street Faire. Vendors come from around the world to display their arts and crafts items. Morro Bay's main boulevard becomes purely pedestrian. Morro Bay Merchant's Association. (877) 478-9477

October 3-4: Harbor Festival. An annual celebration of the Central Coast's unique food, wine, lifestyle, and working waterfront. October 23-25 Morro Photo Expo. Morro Bay has been referred to as the center of nature photography in California, affording magnificent photo opportunities from virtually every vantage point. This event is designed to celebrate digital photography and help photographers of all skill levels improve technique and proficiency. Learn more
