Subsea Tours - Free Whale Watching, a $18 value!
Subsea tours is offering FREE whale watching tours for kids, up to 3 per family through the end of December. The central coast is home to hundreds of humpback whales feeding on the abundant sea life during the fall and winter. Humpback whales are known to put on quite a show including throwing tail, lunge feeding, tail lobbing and full breaching.  *Adult chaperone (with purchased ticket) is required with children.

Morro Bay Natural History Museum - $3 value
The Museum of Natural History - the only one in the California State Park system -- opened in 1962. The Museum features state-of-the-art interactive exhibits specifically created for the Morro Bay site. Interactive exhibits were designed to delight and educate both young and old.  These exhibits provide current scientific information related to the estuary and bay ecosystems and allow visitors to learn about tidal forces, geology, erosion, human impacts on the land and how to preserve and protect the environment and all its living creatures in a fun, hands-on learning environment.  *NO purchase required.

See the complete history of skateboarding - from the early 1930's to present day. Over 300 skateboards from all eras with rotating exhibits from extensive private collections. Morro Bay Estuary Nature Center - Free Entrance, $2 value!

The Estuary Nature Center invites visitors to experience the beauty of the estuary and learn about protecting its sensitive habitats and wildlife. At the Nature Center, you can view aquariums of steelhead trout and eelgrass, and learn about the threats they face. Find 3-D images of the estuary, learn about the watershed that supplies it with freshwater, and much more. Visitors can also enjoy the spectacular view and take advantage of the center’s binoculars to do some wildlife watching. *NO purchase necessary.

Tide Pools
Morro Bay is home to one of the most fascinating coastal environments you’ll find anywhere. The best tide pools in Morro Bay are found at Morro Strand Beach north of Yerba Buena St. off Highway 1 and at Windy Cove, north of the Morro Bay Natural History Museum. Ochre Sea Stars, some orange and some purple, stand out against the deep green kelp while small black and brown turban snails pepper the pools. There are sea urchins, crabs, sea stars, green anemones, barnacles, mussels, rock crabs, anemones, chitons, sponges, sea urchins, tube worms, sea cucumbers and thick beds of seaweed. Bike Friendly
This bicycle friendly town, honored as such by the
League of American Bicyclists, offers year round cycling, mountain biking and beach cruising in an absolutely gorgeous seaside setting. Morro Bay makes it easy for cyclers to get around town, offering a detailed Bike Route Map that highlights the towns many bicycle friendly trails. Begin your cycling adventure in downtown and ride to Morro Bay State Park and Marina on the Back Bay. From there, travel to North Morro Bay over the newly opened Morro Creek Trail Bridge through Cloisters Park, and down to the Embarcadero where you can ride the Harbor Walk path out to the iconic Morro Rock. From the Rock, pedal down onto the beach and enjoy miles of bike friendly paths along the gorgeous Pacific shoreline. Didn’t bring your bicycle with you? Not to worry. Surreys, bicycles and beachcombers are available for rent at Farmer’s Kites and Surreys located on the Embarcadero. And, let’s not forget that the Morro Bay BMX-style bike park, the only official course of its kind in San Luis Obispo County, is open from sunrise to sunset and is free to riders of all ages.
