Don Doubledee has been practicing architecture on the central coast since 1976 working with the firm of Jennings Vaicius and Associates and becoming Vice President in charge of the San Luis Obispo office. In 1979 Don joined Patrick Sullivan and Associates as Project Architect for initially two major projects for the County of San Luis Obispo; The County wide Handicap Barriers Study and the major addition and major renovation of the existing Courthouse and Courthouse Annex. In 1981 Don became the Chief architect for Central Pacific Engineers a 50+ person Architectural/Engineering firm. Don was in charge of projects at Vandenberg Air Force Base and Monterey Naval Postgraduate School. In 1982 Don joined Don West, in 1984 the firm became West+Doubledee Architects and in 1986 West + Doubledee Architects, Inc. West + Doubledee completed over 200 projects for a wide variety of clients. DON DOUBLEDEE ARCHITECT + ASSOCIATES Don Doubledee Architect + Associates was formed in 1995 resulting from the re-organization of West+Doubledee Architects, Inc. Now, the firm has completed almost 400 projects throughout California including projects as small as residential deck additions as large as schools and libraries. Although the firm has been doing many local residential projects, we have continually provided architectural services for schools, commercial buildings, public works and military projects. By maintaining a small generalized practice with state of the art CADD computer technology and by forming specialized project team associations for each project, Don Doubledee Architect + Associates can offer a highly specialized team to a variety of clients. Overhead is reduced by minimizing office space and employees. Communications are facilitated by "on line" technology. Team members are chosen for their relevant experience and/or proximity to the project site. CONSTRUCTION ASSITANCE , ESTIMATING AND INSPECTION SERVICES Don Doubledee Architect + Associates regularly provides construction administration services. Also available are Construction Management and Cost Estimating services. Occasionally, on select projects, through association, we can provide full contracting services. We also occasionally do inspection services for pre-purchase clients, insurance damage and construction inspection for lending institutions.
